Business Administration Apprentice Inayah
Inayah Sultana is 19 and is currently undertaking a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship through Inspire ATA at Stephen Hawking School in Tower Hamlets, London. Inayah decided to do an apprenticeship because she believed it would provide the best combination of learning and hands-on experience.
Here is Inayah’s apprenticeship journey so far
‘I chose to pursue a business administration apprenticeship because I believed it would provide the perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Rather than solely focusing on academics, this apprenticeship allowed me to immerse myself in real-world business scenarios, gaining valuable real life skills.
Additionally, I saw this apprenticeship as an opportunity for personal and professional growth. I was eager to learn from experienced professionals in the field, gaining insights that I wouldn't necessarily acquire through traditional classroom learning alone.
Moreover, I was attracted to the diverse range of opportunities that a business administration apprenticeship offers. From marketing and finance to human resources and operations, this course provided a broad understanding of various business functions, equipping me with a versatile skill set that can be applied across different industries and roles. I t was perfect as my placement was in SEND School, so I was completing my course in an environment that I have dreamed to work in.
Overall, by choosing a business administration apprenticeship, I invested in my future by acquiring practical skills, expanding my knowledge base, and setting a solid foundation for a successful career in the business world.
The main benefits of an apprenticeship programme are that apprenticeships provide practical, real-world experience in a specific industry or occupation. This hands-on learning is invaluable for developing skills that employers value. Apprenticeships focus on developing skills that are directly applicable to the chosen industry or occupation.
Unlike traditional education routes, apprenticeships often come with a salary or stipend. This allows participants to earn money while gaining valuable skills and qualifications, reducing the need for student loans.
The best thing about my business administration role is the dynamic nature of the work. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities, allowing me to continually learn and grow. Whether it's coordinating projects, managing schedules, or assisting with strategic planning, I'm constantly engaged in tasks that require problem-solving and critical thinking. This role provides me with a diverse skill set and a broad understanding of various business functions, which not only enriches my professional development but also opens doors to a wide range of career paths within the business world. Additionally, being part of a team where collaboration and innovation are encouraged makes every accomplishment feel rewarding and meaningful.
My tutor, Tina Smith, from LMP Education, is someone with a wealth of experience in the business administration field. She possessed a deep understanding of the best practices, and strategies, making them her such a valuable source of knowledge and guidance. She took the time to understand my strengths, weaknesses, and career goals, tailoring their guidance to help me reach my full potential.
My mentor, Jules Williamson, from Inspire ATA has been incredibly supportive throughout my journey in the business administration field in several ways. From the beginning, Jules has shown unwavering belief in my abilities. She consistently encourages me to push beyond my comfort zone and take on new challenges, instilling confidence in my capabilities. Whenever I faced difficulties or uncertainties, Jules was there to provide guidance and advice. She is always accessible and approachable. Whether it was a quick question or a more in-depth discussion, she always made time to listen to my concerns and offer support whenever needed.
My line manager has played a crucial role in my professional development by providing support, guidance, and opportunities for growth. She set clear expectations for my role and responsibilities and provided an overview of what was expected of me, which helped me prioritize tasks and align my efforts with the team's goals. My manager regularly provided constructive feedback on my work. Whether it was praise for a job well done or suggestions for improvement.
Time management is the most important skill I have learned because it allows me to effectively prioritise tasks, stay organised, and make the most of every moment. In a fast-paced business environment, being able to manage my time efficiently ensures that I meet deadlines, accomplish goals, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
My next step is to take my qualifications and transition into full-time employment, where I am determined to thrive and succeed. Armed with the knowledge and skills gained through my apprenticeship in business administration, I am confident in my ability to make a meaningful contribution to any organisation.’
